How does the Story Darlings book club work?
Each month, we select a new book for our members to read. We’ll announce the book here at Story Darlings HQ and spread the word across our socials. We’ve started a Discord server that’s now open to new members and friendly discussion (with spoilers). While we do post reading assignments, this is ALL at your own pace. So jump in when you can!
Around the end of the month (or the first week of the following month), Sandra and Tera will talk about the book on the Story Darlings podcast. You can tune in for audio-only episodes wherever you listen to podcasts, or feel free to comment and watch the videos on our YouTube channel!
Is membership free?
Yes! Access to our book club, podcast, and Discord are free. There’s a video version of our podcast that’s also free on Spotify and YouTube, but that will likely change in the future. Video editing is a time-consuming process that cuts into our reading and community time, so offering a paid membership would help facilitate that. But as of right now, everything is free and accessible to all. We’ll let you know if that ever changes!
Do I have to participate to join?
Nope! You can engage as much (or as little) as you like. Whether you prefer reading along quietly, sharing your thoughts on the Story Darlings Discord, or interacting on any of our socials, we welcome all readers to our community. We’re just tickled to have you here. 🤗
How are the books selected?
Monthly selections will always be romance or fantasy (or some combination of both). If you love either of those things, you’re in the right place! Members can always suggest books, and we occasionally run polls to let the community decide upcoming reads.
